G-Dragon, the iconic member of the popular K-pop group ‘Big Bang’ and a renowned solo artist, is poised to make his comeback in the latter half of this year. According to his agency, Galaxy Corporation, the 35-year-old artist, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, is busy preparing a new album. While the release date is yet to be decided, the comeback is certainly a highly anticipated event.
Setting his sights beyond South Korea, G-Dragon plans to focus on activities in Japan as well. In a strategic move, Galaxy Corporation has already established a local branch in Japan. The agency clarified that the branch’s establishment was completed in September 2023, prior to the exclusive contract with G-Dragon made in December 2023.
G-Dragon parted ways with YG Entertainment, the company that discovered and nurtured his talent, in December last year. He then signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, a company focused on AI, avatars, and the metaverse. This strategic move was seen in January when G-Dragon, in collaboration with Galaxy Corporation, attended the world’s largest IT and home appliance trade show, ‘CES 2024’, in the United States.
