Rising high above Seoul’s prestigious Seocho District, the Raemian One Bailey stands as a testament to opulence. This newly constructed apartment complex, revered as the ‘crème de la crème’ of Gangnam’s real estate, is now curating get-togethers for its single residents.
Aptly named the ‘One Bailey Marriage Information Group (One-MIG)’, this group is designed to foster connections among the complex’s unmarried residents. The group defines itself as a gathering for “parents with unmarried offspring residing at One Bailey and the singles themselves who have difficulty finding suitable matches”. The membership fee for this elite group has been set at around $100.
The first One-MIG meeting was held in April, where parents and their single offspring had the opportunity to mingle. A singles-only gathering is scheduled for the 18th, where attendees can indulge in a gourmet course meal and a wine party. The group suggests attendees bring business cards, ensuring an air of formality while making connections.
Raemian One Bailey, which welcomed its first residents in August last year, is a massive development featuring 2,990 units spread across 23 buildings and 35 floors. The complex is located in a highly sought-after area, conveniently close to major amenities including the Sinbanpo Station on Subway Line 9, the Seoul Bus Terminal, department stores, shopping malls, and the Banpo Hangang Park.
Last month, a 26-pyeong (approximately 84.93 square meters) apartment in the complex sold for a whopping $3.6 million, setting a new record. This equates to an astonishing $1.63 million per pyeong, reaffirming the Raemian One Bailey as one of the most expensive housing options in Gangnam, Seoul.
In November of last year, Samsung Card unveiled a credit card exclusively for Raemian One Bailey residents, offering benefits at the nearby department store. Additionally, a liquor store within the complex collaborated with a local craft beer company to create a ‘One Bailey Beer’, retailing at approximately $4.50 per bottle. The beer quickly gained popularity among the residents, leading to a supply shortage shortly after its release.
